Paul Wakefield is one of a handful of truly pivotal landscape photographers in the UK. Most of his commercial work has been for major clients, particularly automotive, outdoors and spirits. His personal work has been seen in a set of books about the UK with Jan Morris and also with the National Trust. However, his recent book, The Landscape, really shows the quality of this personal work. We’re very proud to play a small part in his creative process.
“I use colour negative film almost exclusively for its unique quality – delicate and painterly, and it’s that quality that I want to retain throughout every stage of the image making process to the final print. So to be entirely confident that there is a totally reliable person to handle my film at the scanning stage, is incredibly reassuring. Tim and Charlotte run a great company that is based on the highest technical skill, attention to detail and a very friendly service with extremely reasonable pricing. Nothing is ever a problem, and there is simply no one else I would entrust with my film.”
