The task: Scans of POLAPAN35 – a long forgotten 35mm b/w slide film from Polaroid, developed manually in 2 minutes. A body of work, shot 1996 over 10 years, re-edited 2016.
The aim: Get 100 images in line for a book and large size gallery prints.
The problem: Almost every slide was different in grain and contrast and colour, due to the manual developing. Plus after 20 years chemical changes had occurred in colour and the emulsion.
The result: A happy photographer! Tim mastered the scans with great equanimity, patience and stunning quality. He solved the problems with his deep knowledge and understanding of analogue films. As well I appreciated the positive and friendly handling of Charlotte. It’s always a pleasure to work with you guys!
